This is an exciting to time to join an expanding branded business who are growing from strength to strength. They are now looking to appoint a Technical & Packaging Manager to help them hold their seat as the market leaders in their field.

The Role

In this essential Technical role, you’ll be pivotal in introducing innovative packaging solutions.

You’ll be identifying cost reduction initiatives, ensuring packaging quality standards, artwork compliance and liaising with external suppliers as well as overseeing artwork approvals for all products to guarantee packaging elements are in line with company strategy and customer requirements.

Along with this you’ll be the go-too technical expert, with full responsibility for Quality, Food Safety and compliance. You will be playing a key role in Supplier Management. You will need to develop strong Technical relationships with current and future co-manufacturing partners in the UK and US. You will work closely with them to drive quality improvements and ensure product integrity as well as support the development of new products.

The Person

We’re looking for a bright, capable and driven Technical Manager with experience of managing packaging initiatives. You’ll have superb interpersonal skills. Ideally with a food science / technology degree and a wealth of technical experience from start-up, branded or retail environment.

Of course, the usual HACCP, BRC, auditing and quality management systems experience is essential but we need a technical manager with a real passion for food and processes. Someone who can embrace new product areas, gets excited about technical innovation and new ingredients.

Developing fair and collaborative relationships with suppliers alongside a love for factories is a must for this role. There will be some travel to suppliers within the UK and US so you will need to have a flexible approach and be able to adapt to the needs of a fast paced business.
