This multi-site food business develops delicious products for a range of retail customers working closely with them to create innovative own label products alongside their premium brands.

As they expand further and grow their market share in the UK, they need an accomplished senior NPD professional with the drive, influence and passion to make an impact in this newly created role.

This is a remote role with regular travel to Europe as well as to UK retail customers.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll be part of the UK team, co-ordinating NPD / R&D teams at European manufacturing sites. You will work cross-functionally to create and deliver an exceptional product portfolio. This will capture new trends and identify relevant market opportunities so that you can define as well as execute a strong Innovation pipeline that fits with the UK strategy, helping to grow market share.

You’ll work in partnership with the category management team and the sales team to ensure outstanding product presentations to customers, being the key point of contact and working to understand customer strategies and opportunities.

This is an all-encompassing role where you will be managing the whole product lifecycle, ensuring a strong product strategy and roadmap across your categories resulting in the launch of on-trend products that are commercially sound.

Your confidence and strong relationship building skills will allow you to create lasting relationships with retail customers, manufacturing sites and suppliers. You will shape and lead the NPD/EPD projects, directing the internal / external teams involved, motivating and inspiring them to deliver innovation and excellence with pride.

The Person

We are looking for a talented and influential Senior NPD Manager ideally with a food science qualification along with experience from a food manufacturing, food retail or food brand environment.

You must have extensive experience of working with the major UK retailers, so you have a solid understanding of their processes and know how to deliver strategic innovation to their consumers.

You need to have the ability to galvanise and enthuse colleagues, customers and suppliers, and will have a proven track record of bringing exciting products to market whilst having developed the credibility to influence at all levels.

With fantastic attention to detail and a true self-starter, you aren’t phased by constant change and challenges – you have the drive to deliver and can adapt and implement solutions swiftly. A natural collaborator and communicator, you will have a history of inspiring others and bringing them together.
