The Company

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded food business during a busy period of growth and innovation. As the product pipeline continues to expand, the team is seeking an experienced Interim Development Chef to provide additional support and momentum across a range of development projects. This role is for an immediate start.

The Role

Reporting to the Product Lead, you will apply your culinary expertise to create new recipes and drive product improvements across the portfolio, whilst helping to deliver projects from concept through to launch within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You’ll keep abreast of emerging food and consumer trends, as well as new and exciting ingredients, packaging developments, and market activity; translating insights into commercially viable concepts that align with customer and business objectives.

You’ll play a key role in driving EPD & NPD projects forward as well as working on customer briefs and leading successful scale up from kitchen concept through to factory trial. You’ll be comfortable influencing internal and external stakeholders across the business, collaborating cross-functionally to balance creativity with technical, operational, and commercial requirements. This is a hands-on interim assignment where you’ll be expected to quickly integrate into the team, manage multiple priorities and add value from day one.

The Person

This role will suit an experienced Development Chef with a background in food manufacturing, food brands, or retail. Experience of delivering NPD projects against customer or internal briefs is essential, along with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life.

You’ll be a proactive and organised individual who enjoys working at pace, keeping up with trends and transforming ideas into commercially successful products.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are important, as is the ability to navigate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Immediate availability, or availability within a short notice period, is highly desirable. This opportunity is ideally suited to someone looking for a 3–6-month contract where they can make an immediate impact within a collaborative and innovative business.

If you’re an experienced Development Chef available for your next interim challenge, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today or get in touch with Georgina or Dhrutee for a confidential chat on 0345 2600 737.
