This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded food business who are going through a period of growth and are seeking a dynamic and experienced Development Chef to help bring innovative concepts to life.
The Role
Reporting to the Product Lead, you will have an opportunity to apply your culinary skills to develop new recipes as well as to driving product improvements to enhance quality and value across the product portfolio, whilst aligning to the wider business strategy.
You’ll keep up to speed with new food / consumer trends, ingredients, packaging and technologies as well as the competitor landscape, so you can translate these ideas into concepts, driving the innovation of on-trend products to meet customer needs.
As a key member of the Product team, you will play a key role with effectively influencing, briefing and coordinating people cross-functionally at all levels to drive new and exciting innovation.
This will involve building close working relationships Technical, Process and Manufacturing teams across the group, motivating them to collaborate on projects with energy and enthusiasm whilst ensuring cost parameters as well as technical & safety requirements are met. Key activities include being able to work together to successfully scale up kitchen concepts to factory trial and reviewing in-development products against HACCP plans.
The Person
This role will suit a passionate and driven Development Chef, ideally with experience gained from food manufacturing, food brand or retail environment.
You’ll need to have experience of working to customer briefs, as well as working with manufacturing and cross-functional teams to continually raise the bar on product innovation, quality and integrity to meet customer requirements.
You will be a natural communicator, able to effectively manage and influence key stakeholders whilst building strong working relationships to deliver significant NPD projects.
