Do you have a natural talent for developing relationships and maximising business opportunities? This is a great chance for an experienced Technical Sales / Business Development Manager to join a very specialist global ingredients company to help them grow their European business.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you’ll be responsible for the European growth of a specialised category working directly with customers as well as distributors. As well as developing new business you will manage existing customer accounts, providing exceptional customer service. This will include ensuring that they understand the company’s products by providing training and support.
With your previous experience in business development you'll take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and work with the Commercial Director to develop the commercial strategy for your category as well as prepare sales plans and budgets for the European market.
You will also attend tradeshows, technical sales meetings and innovation summits to present the current category business situations whilst keeping abreast of changes within the market.
We are looking for a self-motivated and determined Technical Sales / Business Development Manager who has previous experience and success in a similar Technical Sales role within the food ingredients industry. You must be educated to Degree or Masters level in a science related subject. A proven track record of successfully managing key accounts, developing new business and providing Technical and Commercial solutions is key.
You’ll have the ability to drive your own category but also work with change internally and externally as the market shifts. Alongside outstanding communication skills you must also have excellent negotiation and relationship management abilities with a natural flair for influencing key decision makers. An understanding of specialist ingredients would also be highly advantageous. There will be regular planned travel to Europe and occasionally to the USA.
